Alarm hood pin on 124

I'm installing an aftermarket alarm on my 1991 300e. So far so good. I'm using the door trigger wires from the factory alarm hook up and they work fine. I am also using the trunk pin trigger from the factory alarm. But I can't find which wire the hood pin is? None of the wires at the factory alarm module change from ground to 12v or vice versa whether the hood is open or not.

So I looked under the hood, at the pin, and saw something funny. There were 3 wires coming out of the wire shroud heading to the pin, but only 2 were connected. I figured out that there was an extra connector electrical taped to the side of the shroud (used car). I now have 3 connectors going to the hood pin, but only two connections on the hood pin. One is a plastic connector, with a brown/red wire, the other a plastic connector with a brown/white wire, and the other a metal connector with a brown wire.

Could anyone with a factory-alarm equipped 124 take a glance at their hood pin trigger (drivers side, on the rim of the hood, easy to spot) and tell me what kind of connectors are going into it?

THANKS!
-E

I just checked all the wires (brown/red, brown/white, and brown) and none of them have 12v like the wires do in the door pin switches. Does anyone know which wire SHOULD have 12v so I can follow it and try to find the problem?

On my car red/brown has 12v(aprox.) and white/brown unconnected has 12v.
(Just tested, popped hood locked car, opened hood, alarm sounded.)
