Location of Starter/Ignition wires
I'm trying to install a remote starter on my 1991 300E, and have a quick question.
I need 4 wires: the 12volt constant, starter, ignition, and accessory. My manual says to access these wires behind the instrument cluster. The only problem is after pulling the cluster, the wires have 0 slack. I have access to maybe an inch or two of those wires mentioned above, and yanking on them yeilds nothing. Is there another location where I can tap into those wires? Anywhere other than behind the cluster is fine, even under the hood would be easier. Thanks! -E

My guess is that you did not disconnect the speedometer cable. Do search on removal of cluster how to get additional slack on the cable.

Is behind the cluster the only place to access all these wires?
