You have to have both CDs in a drive and running at the same time.

A lot depends on what version you have. The 2002 EPC (pre-windows interface) is usually installed in "server" mode and requires some drivers to make the terminal style software compatible with MS Windows.

I'm still trying to figure mine out. It just installs fine and then spins when I run it, nothing happens.

This is the exact same problem here. Any thoughts anyone?

Guys, this is the W123 "EPC compact" remember, not the full blown EPC or WIS job! (although I have issue with that too)..

How do I work out which version I have if it won't install?

thanks for ANYTHING!!

Checking the dates of the files on the disc might shed some light on the date of the version. Just call me old fashioned.

I just noticed you are running basically the same system I am. I guess I don't understand the "compact" part. Does your EPC have 2 disks?

I am using Virtual Drive 8.0 to create a pair of virtual cd drives on my hard drive, disk 1 in the 1st drive and disk 2 in the 2nd. If you are running 2 real cd drives disk 1 has to be in the primary drive in order to work. If the "compact" version only has one disk my info is not valid.

Cool

Hi - thanks..

1.
My "EPC compact" actually has 1 CDROM only and says that it is designed NOT for client/server mode, only standalone.

So my problem still remains.. it installs, I reboot, then try to run it. The CDROM spins up, then nothing. Anyone?

[I did manage to install it onto a colleague's laptop (XP Home SP1) with no problems, but XP Pro SP2 is having difficulty as above!]

??

2.
The other EPC cdrom set is 8 cds in length, the creation date of setup.exe on disk 1 is 20th Sept 2002. This needs a license key, which of course I don't have.. it went with my last PC crash.. you don't want to know... I still ache! Can anyone help on that for me?

I'm restoring my W123 wagon, I have the software to do the part-code crunching, and I know what I want, which is LOTS of parts! (I also have a shed-load on NEW IN THE BAG W123 parts which I need to identify!)

so there you have it. heeeeeeeellllllllllppppppppp!
