on the 2.3-16 valve how common is it for the front rotors to wear unevenly...meaning the inside of the rotor wears faster than the outside. They are Girling floating calipers in good shape

Not at all common. The guide pins allow the pads to keep even tension on rotors!

I have not seen this either.
Do not use dust shields if you are.

It is always the inside of the rotor or the inside pad that always wears the most. This is the side that has the piston on asymmetrical calipers (single or double piston on one side. The nature of the beast..
