No, not the flexplate, that is only what the torque converter bolts to. The segments that the CPS reads is on the back of the flywheel, not the flexplate. The flywheel is indexed by a dowel to the crankshaft so the segments will be in the proper position relative to the crank. Hope this (finally) helps.
