Funny Smelling Heater
When I turn on the heater in my 95 e320 it smells like something is burning, almost electrical. The smell comes and goes, but is usually there when I first turn on the system. It smells the same with all the buttons. Any imput would be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance, Jay |

smell from heater?
Could be slight leak in heaer core of antifreeze-coolant mix. Or could be blower motor wiring or motor. Check if you are loseing cluid. if so, its the heater core leaking. If no coolant loss, its electrical and nees checkiig out. good luck, Abe G

That's what my car smelled like when my evaporator was near death. It must have been leaking freon into the passenger compartment.
Could be the heater core too - but the smell I remember from my evaporator was electronic-like. For your sake - I hope it's not the evap. Mine cost $2100 to repair. Troy 1995 E420 90k |
