Jacking up a 190e

I have a simple question. Can I use the brace that goes under the oil pan to jack up my car. It is easier and I can get the jack stands under the rubber pads that are by jack holes on the side. It seems sturdy but I figured I'd ask the pro's first.

Thanks

If you mean (and I think you do) the suspension crossmember, then it'll do fine.

If you mean the swaybar, I would not use it.

I can't think of anything else down there that would go under the oil pan.

Deffinitly not the sway bar. I believe it is the cross member. Fairly wide piece of metal (about 4-5"). It goes under the oil pan as I recall (not looking at it right now.

to get my jack stands under the rubber mounts I use the jack that came in the trunk. I think it would be ok to use the crossmember to jack it up, but never anything else such as the control arms, or the suspension components. These items will bend. I don't ever jack my car up anywhere except where I am supposed to because a guy in a tire shop jacked my 140 up from the control arms once, and it ruined both of them, costing several thousand to replace. Good Luck and be careful!

The front cross member and bottom of the axle housing can be used to jack up either end of the car with a floor jack. I always use a wood block - short piece of 2 x 4 - on the jack puck.

Cool. I usually use the car jack but it's a pain in the butt. If I use a floor jack, I cannot get my stands under the frame due to the jack location. I want to get it high enough to get the stands under both sides. Plus, when I use the car jack, it bends and I do not like the way that looks.
