Hi all,
I have a 190 D 85 since last year. When I went to buy it, the transmission was shifting hard on 2 and 3.The milage on the car was 210 K, but the odometer was broke so I have no idea o n the actual milage. I have since replaced it. I drove the car with out any major problem untill few weeks ago when the engine would not shutt off.
I took it to a local MB mechanic who replaced the shutt of valve. They told me that I needed a new modulator valve. last week my car would not shift propely so I ordered a modulator valve from Rusty, and went back to the mechanic to put it on.
NOW, car is not shifting pass 3. I took it back to the mechanic for ajustments, now they say there is nothing else they can do. according to them It is time to rebuild or replace the tranny!

Should Icontinue to trust them? How come all the gears are on except 4? . Also will I damage the engine driving the car at 3?
what are the sings that the tranny is realy gone?
