Hi I have an unusual problem with my 86 560sel, about a week ago I went to pull out of the driveway and stepped on the gas pedal like normal but it didn't do anything for about a half second then took of like normal. I drove it a couple days and no other problems. Today I went to the store and it happened again but this time it did not return to normal as fast. For the first few minutes it would do nothing when I stepped on the gas, it would just sit at an idle purring like a kitten no cutting out sputtering nothing. Then it started to rev up a little to 1000 rpm's (keep in mind I was pushing and releasing the pedal the whole time to try to rev it up in nutral) . This went on for about 5 min's or so then it start to rev higher and higher each time I hit the gas. Finally after 20min's it would rev higher ( 5000+ rpm's) so I left for the store. Durring the drive it felt slugish at first then got better as time went on. If I push the gas to the floor it will downshift like normal but it just doesn't have the power it used to have.
Has anyone had this experince?
