Try the other switch, you wont hurt anything by jumping out the switch. I think the temp switch has brown wires.

Larry, i think he is just looking for any more air flow that he can get, dont know if will help or not but it cant hurt. I am assuming that he took the clutch fan off so it wont end up in the radiator. I just did the same thing on my td and am planing a dual 10" electric convertion b4 the weather gets to hot.
