UPDATE:

I wound up taking my car back to AAMCO since it kept leaking quite substancially and here is what they found:

During the prior rebuild (done at their shop in 2001) the rebuilder apparantly didn't have one of the gaskets (don't ask me which one) and decided to "make" one out of silicon.

AAMCO got the proper gasket and installed it and now I have my car with NO LEAKS!!! I'M HAPPY!

I just wish their guy took the time to get the right gasket in the first place. When I took my car to mechanics I've always stressed to them I would rather wait a few more days to have it done right than have the car back quickly.

Oh well, the important thing is I have my baby diesel back and it's now housebroken.
