Angry E320 wagon slipping in reverse

My Wagon has started to slip in reverse. It does shift fine in all other gears. Milage is 118,000. Do I need to rebuild or is this something easily fixable ???? Thanks for any help........ GT

What do you mean by "slipping?" My 95 E320 wagon kind of jerks a little bit at first when it goes into reverse. Kind of jiggles a little bit for a second.

How does it shift going forward? Mine sometimes doesn't shift smoothly. My car has like 71,000 miles on it and last summer I had MB change the tranny fluid / filter. They said no particles, so OK.

These transmissions are vaccuum operated, I have heard they can be adjusted? They tend to be a little troublesome.

Good luck, at least your engine should last forever.

Edit:
I forgot to ask what model do you have, the new twin round headlight (210) style or the w124 style (what year? if its a 1995 its a 124, if its a '98 or newer its a 210)

If its a 210, I heard these have a very nice 5-spd auto made by ZF, electronic control, very good. Of course, those engines don't last as long, either.
