Further, I have seen actual dyno test sheets that show that an a Mercedes engine, a K & N actually resulted in lower hp.
There was actually a technical discussion in a past edition of The Star Magazine about why Mercedes actually recommends against platinum plugs in M103 and M104 engines.

Not that I don't believe you, but can you come up with some proof to post here? I would like to see it...
More air is helpful on some engines, less on others.

The test sheets I have seen were either here or on 500ecstasy.com, and were on 500E's.
I've seen these results on more than one car. You are free to search, but I've seen them.

Aside from all the other stuff, does a straight pipe with a K&N on the end atleast sound good?
