This is a job that I leave to the pros at the dealer. The transmission in that car is very sensitive to fluid level and will shift funny if you don't get it exactly right. It only costs about 190.00 to do it and you can be sure it is done right, not to mention it is a messy job. Measuring the fluid level has to be done at exactly the operating temp of the transmission and has to be exactly correct. Good luck!

The intent Mercedesshop is to help each other out and share our experiences. It is not meant to give step-by-step instructions for someone looking for specific instructions - that is what the "search" feature is for.

I have done the transmission fluid change on a 722.6 transmission and did a write-up: 722.6 Transmission Fluid Change.

I advise that you do not take on this job unless you have successfully done a trans fluid change before and that as Brian pointed out the temperature of the fluid is critical to accurately measure the fluid level.

Good luck.
