94-95 W124: Replacing fresh air filter how-to
If any owners of 94 or 95 W124 cars (wagon, sedan, etc.) are interested, I posted a photo how-to on replacing the fresh air filters. These are two filters located beneath the windshield wiper through which air destined for the cabin is filtered through.
The 1986-1993 cars (pre-facelift) don't have this filter. Link: :EDIT: removed bad link Cheers, Gerry Last edited by whunter; 01-15-2007 at 07:08 PM. Reason: removed bad link |

Thanks Gerry,
Excellent pictures. This post could not have come at a better time for me. Was planning on doing mine next weekend. How long did it take? Phil

Took about an hour (first time), perhaps a little longer. I made sure to clean all the trim and such so that everything looked nice and bright as I put it back together.
It helps to park the wiper either vertical or pointing toward the passenger side slightly. Cheers, Gerry |

Very Nice. I can't believe how dirty your old ones were! What a difference! Is it the same procedure for my 1989 300ce?

No, these filters were present only in 1994 and 1995 model year cars.

If you remove all the plastic surrounds [as I did when R&Ring windshield wiper mechanism] it looks like the attached pik. Tab [located lower right] pivots to allow sliding the lower filter out. Upper filter slides down and is then pulled out. Both expensive filters [sold as set] have interlock channels.

This manual is from BOSCH ... it has the procedure not only for 94-95 W124 but also other models, and other makes too ...
