Help with m103 rocker arm bearing bracket damage
Greetings Forum Members,
Several months ago the valve train on my 1987 190e 2.6 became very rattlie and the car started running rough. I'm just now getting around to investigate the sudden onset of the problem. Today I removed the valve cover and discovered to my supprise that I had 2 loose rocker arm bearing brackets. So loose that the threads in the head were stripped and 5 bolts could not be tightened. One exhaust valve spring was detached from the valve and the retainer clip could not be found. A couple valve spring plates and ball sockets appear damaged. The repair seams to be a straight forward replacement of the damaged parts and helicoiling/rethreading the bolt holes. Where might obtain the tools to reinstall the valve springs and rethread the bolt holes? Any advice on this repair job would be most appreciated. Thanks Knarf
