I recently purchased this car with 65K miles.
Drivers side power seat moves in every direction but back. I can tell that somebody who did not know what they were doing tried to fix it. The plastic fixture that holds the controls under the seat is snapped off. Below the seat seems to be three solenoids connected to different motors. From front to back they perform seat functions - tilt(two lines), forward(one line) and back (one line). On moving control switch, I can feel the control line gain tension and therefore have come to above conclusion. Given the fact that my above assessment is even remotely correct. I can sometimes feel that last control line gain tension briefly, however no seat movement. Could it be the switch or the solenoid. If so where can I take the car in Pittsburgh besides a dealership. The seat is all the way forward. Is there a mechanical release? Thanks |
