Remote controlled door locks, giving claa-lunk sound longer and more grinding like than normal.Sound originates from trunk, specificly passenger side.Found 2 electronic looking boxes near trunk lid hinge right side.Squirted liberally with WD 40 and lithium grease on rear trunk lock.Slight difference
Is there anyway the remote locking mechanism can be lubricated.Thank you for sharing
your experience

I know that the locking system of the tanklid can be heard sometimes and that it needs a little re-adjusting, but noise from the trunk lid...
The vacuum pump for the trunk lid is situated in the back panel at the right side from the lock. Remove the plastic upholstery and try to find out what the problem is...can't be that hard. There is only one pin going from the vacuum pump to the lock which rotates a part inside the lock.

greetingz & good luck

TANK lid noise

Thanks,
MBenz
Come to think of it.May be noise originates from the TANKlid as itis very close, right in front of the locking electronic boxes.

How to adjust the tank lid.
Thank you .

If the tank lid is right in place in the fender, you don't want to change a single thing to it.
If you remove the top of the fenders inside upholstery at the tank lid side, you will find the vacuum pump for the tank lid (round black pump with steel pin and red plastic top) which is screwed to a thin chassis part.
Loosen these two screws and shove the pump up or down whilst trying the lock by pushing and pulling the red top.
Tighten the screws when you have the pump positioned in a NO-noise way.
If this is not sufficient you can twist the steel chassis part on which the pump is mounted on. Do this gently and nice and it will help as much as repositioning the pump.

greetingz & good luck
