Parking Brake Spring broke
The spring that connects my release handle to the rest of parking brake mechanism broke. Apparently there is a little “arm” that connects to the release handle and a spring is there to create tension. That is the spring that broke. For example, if I step on the pedal, it just moves back and forth (because the “arm” is in a “back” position). If I take my finger and move the “arm” forward and then step on the parking-brake pedal, then the brake and release handle function normally.
Does this spring have a part number? Dealer only? Does it have an officially name so I don’t look retarded when asking for it at the parts counter? BTW, I do have the spring. One of its ends broke, so I know for a fact that’s the problem. |

for posterity......forget the dealership. they dont even show the spring in their system. Just go to ace hardware and get a #74 spring. problem solved. you may now move on with your life.
