190E compressor removal

I'm having serious problems removing the A/C compressor from 93 190E. It seems the manifold hangs on some bracket preventing it from coming out the bottom. I tried to remove the manifold at the compressor and have striped out the hex head screws holding the manifold on. I tried using a Dremel tool making a slot in the screw, but have broken two screw driver tips trying to turn these bolts. My repair CD doesn't even mention this Nippondenso compressor being on a 201.028 (2.3 liter). Anyone else had this problem before? Pic attached shows the screw on the back holding the manifold that has been Dremeled.

Question Just curious?

I had the same difficulty today. How did you end up removing the manifold?

Auto zone sells a set of sockets that are the same idea as an screw extractor. They fit over the stripped nut or cap screw and the threads of the extractor bite into the metal and turn it out, I think that they are made by Great neck.
Good luck
Dan

I sprayed it with PB Blaster and finally got it out. It is a frustrating job for sure.
