722.5
I have a 722.5 trans in a 96 W 210 and was wondering if anyone can give me approximate service refill volume.

Are you sure about this? I don't believe the 210 ever got a .5xx - it went from a four speed in 1996 to a 722.6xx in 1997.

I think five speed autos were offered as options in other nations before North America. If memory serves, I think even some W124's got 722.5's.

You may be right - I was thinking U.S. I would imagine some other countries go the 722.5 - especially on smaller engines.

The 722.5 together with the 3.69 rear axle ratio makes for great performance from the M104 powered coupes but that transmission is fragile and expensive to repair, with some subsequently having the 722.3 retrofitted.

Thanks for the feedback! So you get some of the good stuff (5 sp) but not the big block engines? It’s amazing the marketing tactics that MB employs. Do you get the larger variety of diesel engines?
Also while not quite the hallmark of craftsmanship that the 124 500E was, did you get any of the newer E55 models or are the V8 and maybe even V12 engines not sent to Oz?

V8 engines have been available here since the W100, 111 coupe, 108, 109 and 107. V8s did not become available in anything smaller than an S class or SL until the M113 went into the W210 (E430, E55) and the W202 (C43). There have been a few V12 models available here starting with the R129 (600SL) and W140 (600SEL) although the cost meant they were not big sellers. To see an example of the range currently offered here click on "Passenger Cars" at http://www.mercedes-benz.com.au/

Thanks for the excellent summary and link! I spent a bunch of time drooling over the vast truck offerings. I'm surprised that more aren’t offered in the US. Can’t imagine there is a lack of market
