94 s420 windows

I have a 94 s420 the windows use to role down automatically when I pushed the button. now I have to hold down the button does any one know why and how I can fix this

. . a 'dirty' switch??? Rock it back and forth (ignition off) to clean the contacts. See what that brings.

Does this affect all your windows? Did you recently disconnect the battery? Try this: Role a window up all the way, but do not push the rocker switch past the first detent. In other words, press the rocker only enough to get the window moving. Once the window is at the top, keep pushing the rocker switch for 2 seconds, but again, do not push the rocker switch all the way down. Then let the switch go. This will reset the express down and up feature. Repeat for each window.
