300E - Rear axle to diff bolts: what size bit?
While I have the subframe off to replace all the bushings, links, mounts, etc., I need to replace the driveshaft boots and relube the CV joints. When I got to the point of loosening the bolts that attach the halfshafts to the diff, I found that the allen wrench I thought would fit didn't. It was getting dark, however, and I couldn't see the area well enough to tell what type of bit it takes for sure. I think there were closely spaced internal splines, so could this be a XZN type fastener? (is that the same as a triple-square?) Anyone know what type and size bit to use on this and who might carry it?

Gary:
If the triple sqaures are what you need, Lisle Tools makes a set that is carried at a lot of Pep Boys. If you have Car Quest parts stores in your area, they carry the Lisle line, but under their name. Their part numbers for Lisle tools are the same as Lisle. Here's a photo of the Lisle Tools triple squares. http://www.lislecorp.com/tool_detail.cfm?detail=1080

Should be 10mm triple-squares. Autozone has a set that includes that size.
