Front crank seal on C230 / M111 how hard to change?
Have a slight leak on the front seal of my '98 C230. Just enough to collect dirt on the front of the engine. Oil consumption is nil. Just an aesthetic issue, so how hard to do? I think the main issues look like how to lock the crankshaft (I can make a special tool?). And the getting the front pulley off (impact wrench?). Would I have to remove the radiator? (I would rather not). Has any one done this on this car and engine?
Thanks,
Mike
