Thanks in advance! J.H.

You have to switch to an orange bulb, don't know the number but it seems to be widely available at auto parts stores. The package usually says something about it being import - from there you just have to match the size and position of the contact posts. About $4 for a pair of them as I recall.

Hi;
You may also get a bulb that appears silver or bluish when not illuminated but glows orange when blinking. I used the Sylvania/Osram SilverStar "Chrome" bulbs (#1157A ST), purchased at Advance Auto Parts. Not cheap but they look better in clear corners than the orange bulbs. My first set of clear corners were "knock offs' - poor quality and quite clear, showing the bulb in plain sight. After three years the rubber/plastic gasket material deteriorated and the general quality wasn't very good. Replaced them recently with a set of Bosch clear corners. Much better quality and the bulb is not as visible inside. They look a little less "bright" alongside the european headlight lenses. You get what you pay for! OliverB |

Since there is no yellow showing through the clear corners anyway. ![]()

Thanks to all that replied...
However, is the number mentioned above (1157) or the orange bulbs, for that matter, dual filament or single?
Thanks! J.H.

Hi;
#1157 is the dual- filament, two-contact (on base) bulb that is used in the US version of the corner lights - at least on the 124 series. I don't believe Euro versions used the dual filament bulbs. If you converted to clear corners, they may have come with new bulb sockets for single filament bulbs. My original knock-off set did. If you want the dual-filament bulb just pop in the original socket with an 1157 bulb, of your color choice. Original bulbs were clear because the lenses were amber. With clear lenses, to keep it legal?, use an amber bulb or one of the type I first described in previous post. Legally, we are to use clear corners with an amber reflector built into the side edge. Most replacement clear corners do not come that way. Go to the auto store and check out their supply of bulbs! All three color variations described are #1157. OliverB |

I installed a Silvervision 1157 bulb
This one looks great but similar bulbs by design will work well also. This bulb comes with a silver metalic half-coat on the top half of the bulb. I like this style because it does a better job of deflecting all the light back onto the lens reflector, which is what really makes lights visible and bright.
Also this type of bulb has the same silver metal finish on the outside, which IMO blends better with the lens reflector in the background. No amber light showing through until you light them.
