W202 Climate Control Issue "EC" Light Stays On
From one problem to another. I had a small freon leak so I did a R134 recharge about a week or so ago and everything went fine. The leak was due to a loose hose and it was tightened. Everything was going great until recently when the "EC" light turned on and stayed on. I did some search (as much as I could b/c the search feature seems to be messed up) and saw that if you held the button down for 10 seconds you could override this. I did that just to see if the air would blow cold. It was cooler than it was before but not like it has been running for the last couple weeks.
Is there anything I can do to figure out why the EC light stays on? I would like to do some investigating before I take it to someone to checkout b/c I don't want to end up getting ripped off. I know its on for a reason so I don't want to risk further damage to the climate control system by just overriding it everytime. I was trying to find instructions on Climate Control Diagnostics but the search kept taking me to an error page.
Thanks
PS: Its a 1996 C280 with 120K miles on it.
