Greetings,

Seeing as I am new to this site, but value all opinions, professional and personal experience. I have two simple questions. I have an 80' 300TD wagon that while shifting by itself it seem to either stay in 3rd gear or goes to 4th at the same time as it shifts to 3rd. I don't feel or hear a difference from 3rd to 4th gear. Manually shifting it, I get it to go through all gears at what seems normal, and I feel the shifting take place. Any input on this would be great. The second question is this. Is there suppose to be a manual linkage that operates downshift from let's say 4th to 3rd as you start climbing an incline grade, or is the downshift switch you're only downshift method during this time?
