’95 S280 won’t start, injectors not firing.

The last time I used the car about a month ago it started fine but now it won’t start at all. I sprayed starting fluid in the air intake and it ran for a few seconds so I figure the ignition system is fine plus I also pulled and cleaned all the plugs. I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail and it shows strong pressure so the fuel pump is good. Lastly I plugged a noid light into one of the injector connectors and cranked the engine and it didn’t flash indicating the injectors aren’t getting a signal to open. Where should I go next? Is there a fuse that controls the injectors that may have blown and if so where is the fuse box?

I don't think it has a physical relay like the older cars. If it does, where is it?

I don't have info for gray market, but I assume it is a 104 -2.8, S class.
[ like the S320].
So, it may not have OVP.. Just look behind the panel, behnd the battery. if it has one . it will be there w/fuse on top.
if it does not, spin all your fuses for a better contact before checking crank sensor.

Thanks, the battery is in the trunk with nothing behind it. It will start and run for a few seconds with a shot of starting fluid in the intake so I assume the crank sensor and the rest of the ignition system is OK.

Ok

So you have ignition, but no injection..verifying crank sensor.
Suspect is still fuse power or cam position sensor.
I will check an S320 system and get back to you..

I’ve found the problem. After a few minutes looking around on the WIS in the Fuel Injection and Ignition System section I found a paragraph as follows:

Vehicles as of 12/94 are fitted with an immobilizer stage 2. The immobilizer is now activated by the IRCL control module …. After activation of the immobilizer, the HFM-SFI control module deactivates the fuel injection system. The immobilizer can only be activated or deactivated by IRCL remote control. Opening and closing the car using the mechanical key does not affect the immobilizer….

I had the battery out of the car so I was using the mechanical key to lock and unlock it. Seems when I put the battery back in I should have locked and unlocked the car with the remote before trying to start it. It starts right up now.
