HELP! ads hydraulic fluid shooting out of reservoir

My ball joint was popping so I put in new control arms on my 97 SL600. I set the wheel change light for the ADS and control arm install went well. Took it for a test drive, good news was the ball joint issues were solved and car rode well...at first. Seemed to be riding harsh after I got back from a short test drive, when I stopped at my house I noticed a lot of hydraulic fluid leaking and my front suspension was slammed. Popped the hood and looks like fluid was shooting out of the reservoir all over the right side (passenger) of the engine. What did I screw up? I thought I followed the manual instructions to a T. If anyone has an idea I would love to hear it. Thanks!
