I have an 83' 300D which has a virbration directly below the cabin compartment when the tranny shift from second to third and again when shifting from third to fourth. It always happen under a heavy load until the car picks up speed, then the vibration deminishes and is unnoticable. Is it the flex disc or the center bearning carrier or both. Has anybody had this problem before and fixed it. Thanks, Jeff

I'm not a transmission expert, but I have heard that replacing transmission mounts can sometimes cure what seems like an otherwise nasty problem. When the mounts wear the normal movements of the transmission can seem clunky and noisy. At the very least have the transmission mounts looked at.

Probably the flex disk at the transmission end. This can easily be verified by jacking up the car and examining the driveshaft. You will know if the flex disk is bad. It will be loose back and forth.
