M110-Head Casting Number
I've got 2 M110 engines. The one we're planning to build is a known Euro engine, with a head casting number, "R 110 016 12 01 12". The engine in the car has casting number, "R 110 016 12 01 10". Does anyone know the difference between the two? Are they both Euro or is the "10" a USA casting? Thanks in advance for any help!

i dont know
but i suspect strongly that they are the same. i believe that the differences are in cams and pistons, mainly.

I suppose that the easiest way to tell if the engine in the car is Euro would be to pull the cam cover and check the part numbers on the cams. Thanks Tom!

Great thread! Thanks Dan! From the engine listing, it would appear that both engines are Euro. The 110.985 engine came from a 116.024 (280SE) or a 116.025 (280SEL). The 110.984 engine came from a 123.033 (280E) or a 123.053 (280CE) or a 123.093 (280TE). Now all I have to do is back the model numbers into the year of manufacture with that motor. I do love this hobby!
