[QUOTE=Martineau Gauda]I have a bad boot on #3 spark plug. Rough idle, check engine light with #3 misfire code P303. The boot tested open. After the boot is replaced will the injector cutoff for that cylinder automatically reset or do I need to do something additional to enable the cylinder?
Funny, tried to repace with a test spark plug wire. (not MB) for test and cannot get spark. Is there a spark automatic cutoff for #3 also?
The coil also connects to the #4 plug and it appears to be firing and only the P303 code is being set. Could the coil be bad for just the #3 plug only and still fire the #4?
In waste spark , the plugs are a series circuit, so one plug fires from electrode to ground and one fires from ground to electrode. So , if you have a bad boot, the first plug can still fire to ground............
This is also one of the reasons why plats don't run well in a 104 waste ignition system... smalll electrodes
