Bulb out indicator help needed

Hi All,

I have another issue that I hope you can help with. When I step on the brake the bulb out indicator comes on and when I let off it goes out. The manual says that if a brake light goes out the indicator will come on and stay on until the car is turned off, mine goes off when I step off the brake. I have checked and all bulbs are working..

Mark

Try cleaning out the contacts. That happened once to me with my 300TE. The rear light sockets were "gunky." I cleaned them out and VOILA! problem solved.

Ditto on the sockets

Similiar situation - bulbs working but warning issued on 2000 E320.

Problem was right rear socket was loose/not making proper connection/gunky. Activating brakes was causing arc. Socket melted a bit. Glad I received warning.

Have someone step on brake while you are looking at sockets.

Good luck.
