Have a w126 280se 1985 with M110 engine and automatic gearbox

When the engine runs, and I choose any gear with brakes on, the engine stops running!
When I do the same without brakes on I can drive the car till the next stop!
What could be the problem?
Is it possible the engine need to be tuned better?
Earlier I used a (starter-spray) witch give an explosion in the air-cleaner that deformed a little the doser-plate of my KA-JETRONIC, I tried to get it flat again but could not do it for 100%!
Could that be the reason of all my problems?

Thanks for any help

Hmm ... I am dumbfounded by this problem. First time hearing of this. I dont think its a tuning problem. Sounds more like a failure in the power plant.

I do hope someone here would have a lead.

I imagine the problem is due to the engine "torquing " over. I would suspect the green wire from the ignition to the ignition control unit. Other possibilities include the air hose for decel leaning and the coil wire.

Does the car die when put into reverse? The engine torques the opposite direction so use this for diagnostics. I would try pulling on all the hoses and harnesses paying close attention to any that are already tight. The engine ground could also be involved.
