Hi folks,
Last night the check engine light came on on my 95 S420 (105,000 miles). Is there a way to know which component or sensor might be malfunctioning without taking the car to the dealer? thanks for your thoughts! jimSF

There is no way without having the codes checked. It could be as easy as a fuel cap, but could be harder.
Most independents can check codes...

DTC Codes!
I know you probably have it fixed by now, but check out the following pages for "how-to-read-codes", etc.
