Gotta Have a wagon

I am all for different series,W123-W124-W107,ETC,

I think series spacific would be to everyones advanage.

Mine sees five crewmembers a couple times a week, I guess I could drive a Torus want-be wagon ,but !!

If I had a wagon I think I would love to go there... but I think I might be lonely when I arrived.

I would like to propose a thread if it should come about: "What to do about rusting fuel tank?" (whats that? )

I don't really agree with this. For a small example, a 116 chassis can have a diesel, 6cyl carbed gas, 6cyl FI gas, or 8cyl FI gas engine. Having a 116 forum would encompass all these - plus a lot of new guys dont know what chassis they have. My biggest thing currently is people post in the wrong forum as is - like guys with 450SL ask engine problems in tech or SL instead of Vintage, Diesel owners ask here instead of Diesel - and their questions take longer to get answered. I think these forums are well laid-out as is

This is a great idea. Maybe then somebody can tell me how to check the power steering fluid on an '02 wagon.

wagon forum???

We own a 380SL, a 240D and a 300TE 4matic. Invariably, when I am searching for something for one of the cars I come across something of interest for one of the others. Traffic on a general forum is important. I recently asked for help on my 300TE 4matic and got no positive replies, there just aren't many of them around, I finally figured out the answer myself.

A wagon forum would be nice to have, to be specific in who answers, etc., but we wagon owners might miss the good general advice that comes from some of the "experts" even though they don't own a wagon.

I would visit and search the wagon sight if we had one but I would also peruse the general Tech Forum.

Thanks for a great service. srharvey.

I'd love to get a wagon but I'd hate to loose my trunk.

I have a wagon - I'm not sure there is anything unique to it other than the tailgate, the roof rack and the hydraulic suspension ( rear). So the question is what would this forum offer that the others don't. If so then great.

BTW - this is the best MB site - I appreciate the hardwork and expense that keeps this running. Thanks.

You're not losing a trunk...you're gaining a giant storage space.

Plus a "secret" storage compartment.

The Volvo forum I am on for my wagon does not have any different sections for wagons.... The only differences between the wagons and Sedans are issues like rear tailgate, folding cargo seats, folding rear seats and the hydropnumatic suspension Mercedes puts in these things...... While the MB wagon owners of course will argue otherwise....

By having a wagon specific forum you would be splintering the knowledge... Many sedan drivers would not read the Wagon specific forums....

If your going to have a wagon specific forum why not just break the cars up by chassis.... I think things work well here the way they are.... I can look at information about my specific cars and learn about other cars at the same time...... When I was looking for 126 information I happened across 140 information which made the car less scary to me and I bought one.....

Additionally if your going to have specialized categories why not go all the way.... Im sure the Pullman owners would love a place to discuss privately getting all of their hydraulic windows working..... Us 140 owners would love a place to discuss fibre optic loop testing.....

Leave well enough alone

That would be nice... but I would need to get new stuff... my trunk full of junk would look horrible in a wagon... the one thing the trunk has going for it is 'it's opaque'.

That is why God create limo tinting.

But I know exactly what you mean.

My Volvo Wagon has legal limit tint which works rather well. When I haul anything that has "value" I have a few moving blankets stashed in the under floor storage compartment.... When its covered you cant see it even if your leaving DNA on my windows trying to peer in..... Most of the time even without the blanket you can't see what's in there unless your right up against the glass.......

Many states have tint laws that make limo tint illegal.... Unfortunatly many cops don't really know the law 100% as there are stipulations that make vehicles with a certain passenger capacity exempt. In many states a 7 passenger wagon might be exempt from the law yet you still get a ticket.... Its much easier to do legal limit and use moving blankets..... Keeps the Barney Fife set away.......
