Quick tranny question (2002 C320 sports wagon)

On my daughter's 2002 C320 Wagon, when the car is in Drive and stopped on an incline, if you let go of the gas, the car rolls back...

Our other (current) Benzes don't do the same (roll back). None of my other Benzes have rolled back when on an incline.

Other than this, the tranny shifts smoothly, cold or warm.

Is this normal for this year/model Benz?

If you have the S/W switch at the gear shift lever, W provides a hill hold feature, S does not.

FORP, you're exactly correct. I tried the W posiiton and the car did not roll back an incline.

I then treid it in my 1998 W210 with the W/S switch and guess what...it rolled back in S but not in W

What do you know...how come I never noticed before?

Thanks.
