c43 vibration in front end

I am getting nickel and dimed to death trying to correct front end vibration. Now I am into big dollar repairs and I don’t want to experiment. Some people (shops) say my tie rod ends are marginal??? MARGINAL? Others say Mercedes tie rods don’t go bad and mine are fine. Some say wheel bearing, other say they are fine. And still others say it’s all in the tires (which I have replaced at this point)

Tie rods seems tight to me? Little to no play. What else should I look for?

Wheel bearing? Grabbing the passenger side wheel and shaking it produces an audible clank clank clank that is not coming from the tie rod. Any ideas on what I should look for to confirm that it is a wheel bearing or if it is a wheel bearing? The drivers side does not do this.

Tires had uneven wear on the outside edge on the passenger tire but not significant. The vibration is at higher speeds 65+

c43-vibration

vibration is usually caused by out of balance wheels or on rare occasions[especially at 65mph]the drive shaft.your wheels could be out of balance because of the slop[clank clank sound that you described]on the right side which may be the idler arm bushings.also check the disc between the trans and the drive shaft for cracks and looseness.david poole european performance dallas tx.

I just rebuilt my C class front suspension, and tie rod ends and ball joints can go bad. the rubber can tear on both.

How many miles on your car and what brand tires? If you have Conti's where are they made - written on sidewall.

What degree of vibration in the steering wheel, can it cause numbness in your hands?

to check spindle tightness and bearing you really need to pull wheel and remove brake caliper and caliper mounting bracket.

these cars front suspension are actually easy to work on,

Control arm bushings are a common repair on these cars - are these Mercedes specialist looking at your car. And when was the last alignment?

If tire inflation is good and you have shoulder wear on both sets of passenger tires, there is a likely camber issue.
