has anyone had any luck fixing this problem? The rest of the car is nice and tight. How are the door panels removed?

Hi Dave,
I've noticed the same thing with my 560SEL. It happens most frequently on the front pass. door. I think it's the interior piece that runs under along the window and squeaks against the dash. Not sure, as I take a rag doused with Lexol and rub on ALL door panels where they touch the weather-stripping or any other plastic surface. Seems to work for a while, worse in the cold of course. I've heard of people using x-country ski wax which lasts much longer. |

My 1991 500 SEL also suffers from creaking doors, the worst one was the drivers door, again seemingly only when starting off cold. Take a peek at the locking block that is held to the door pillar with four allen headed bolts and a shim plate. The centre of the rubber mount has a conical phosphor bronze bush. Mine was shot and I had to replace the whole rubber mount, about $60 a piece. It stopped my drivers door creaking and groaning like an old man with piles on a winter's morning anyhow !
