Where is my Chassis Serial Number?(83 240D)

I am trying to buy new rear door stops in an ongoing effort to keep my 83 240D looking brand new.
They are Chassis Number specific.

The only problem is I cant find the chassis Number on
the front door driver side sill. Any other places?
