'86 190E 2.3 16V idle problem

Lately my 190E will just stop running when I come to a stop. It starts up right away when I restart it but more and more often this is happening...also, the idle fluctuates between 600 to 1300 rpm's, and as the idle swings up and down, thats when the engine will just stop...

Is there a fuel/idle sensor that could be the cause of this?
