Lately my 190E will just stop running when I come to a stop. It starts up right away when I restart it but more and more often this is happening...also, the idle fluctuates between 600 to 1300 rpm's, and as the idle swings up and down, thats when the engine will just stop...
Is there a fuel/idle sensor that could be the cause of this? Thanks for the help... Rick Schwartz |

My 16 valve also acted like this
If you look at the throttle cable and the linkage, there is a small grey switch. This is the deceleration micro switch or throttle position switch. There is a small rubber boot under the switch. Check it. On mine the boot was ripped. I replaced this switch, u need a 7 mm wrench, and now the car idles rock solid. With the a/c turned on, it is also rock solid. The switch runs about 25 bucks. Good Luck, Joe
