Temp sensor question
Can anyone tell me where this three pin temp sensor is located on my 92 300E? I've replaced 3 sensors on top of the cylinder head (a one pin, a two pin and a 4 pin) and it's not one of them. It's listed as an Engine Temperature Sensor; 105/115 Degree C.
Thanks for any help. |

That sensor has been replaced on your chassis to the 2 wire/blue sensor...the 3 pin is for the earlier systems.
The 3 pin was a binary on/off style sw and controlled aux fan at 105C and comp cut-out at 115C The blue replacement is a thermistor style [ neg. coef.] and sends a temp dependant variable resistance value to the ACC panel, which then switches the same components , but at 105C. aux. high fan activation and 130C. comp cut-out.
