C280 Car stalling

My 95 c280 starts ok, but when I put it in gear and press the gas it stalls. This happens when engine is cold. Also happens at a stop light occaisonally. I can get it to stall when I turn the a/c on and start to press the gas. When I am driving and not stopping and going my a/c runs fine.

Its like I am not getting enough gas??? I dont know??

I have replaced o2 sensors, ovp, I am at a loss. I have looked at the egr, but I have read enough that says if it stalls cold then egr is fine. Please correct me if I am wrong

Any suggestions?

It's as easy as.............

I think I know where your problem is stemming from, since I had the same problem with my M104 engine!

It's as easy as M. A. F.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Mass Air-Flow sensor!)

Replace it! And you will be off and running!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks

I have thought of that, but never had any info. Where is the MAF located and what is the difficulty of replacing it? I appreciate your help, I have lived with this for a while.

I would suggest pulling the codes and finding out what comes up first. If it stalls, something ought to be present as it is effecting emmissions out teh tailpipe.

Search "arthur dalton's" name and "LED code reader" to learn how to make one. Look and see how many pins your port has so you build the right reader.

Then search for "95 CEL's" or "codes" for the list of whats what.

The MAF looks like this. http://catalog.worldpac.com/mercedesshop/sophio/wizard.jsp?partner=mercedesshop&clientid=catalog.mercedesshop&baseurl=http://catalog.peachparts.com/&cookieid=25L0RF04Y2791C2YH7&year=1995&make=MB&model=C-280-001&category=B&part=Air+Mass+Meter

It is attached downstream of your air filter.

They can someitmes be sprayed clean with special MAF cleaner.

Code stuff: need to pull diagnostic codes from 94 c280
