Hi I just bought 1973 220e 3 months ago for $1000 the bodey is pretty good it is just a problem has started happening in the last few weeks. Basically if I am doing around 35mph and I try to increase speed the engine does not respond it is like if there is a govenor on the engine. I brought it ro a garage and he has quoted me up to $1500 to fix this the way around the problem is to let my foot off the gas and let the transmission re-engage. Any ideas the mechanic who looked at the machine says it's transmission
he's not a Mercedes specialist. I was alos wondering does anybodey know a good contact in the Newport Beach/Costa Mesa area who knows more and might be cheaper ? thanks please if you could mail any responces to dgrennan@filenet.com I would be most greatful regards Dan |
