If any wires in your harness are cracked at all, an engine wash can cause a short. You know what havoc that can wreak, I imagine

Giving it time to dry is usually the best option. And also, my 4.5 can start and run on 3 of 8 cylinders (haven't tried 2), so I am not surprised a V12 can run on 6!
