On the 1983 240D the rear seat are MB- Tex, but I belive that the middle section where the arm rest is and the outsides of the bench are real leather. The part which I belive is real leather has faded to a different color than the rest of the bench. As I was pondering on how to solve this problem a thought had arouse to me. Is it feasible to use shoe polish on the seat to restore some color to them. In my mind it seemed as though it would work. I use brown she polish on my leather shoes to restore the color to them when they are in need of brightening. I wanted the response of more seasoned Mercedes owners on this idea. In advance thank you for all of your responses.

Think about it...
shoe polish is a topical application of colored wax. You rub it on and it rubs/wears off. Any passengers could then be sporting backsides in the color of your interior.

LoveLEE143,
You might check out your local autobody supply store for Talsol/Marhyde products. When I had to replace my door panel on a '67 cuda years ago I used their vinyl color spray on a blue panel and made it black. It looked like the other side which was black, after using their spray. Wrecking yard only had blue panel. The spray comes in different colors. Gary |
