Thanks, G-Benz. I put original equipment Bosch copper plugs in this afternoon. Even torqued them. By the way, the old plugs were regular platinum, and they looked OK, although there was carbon buildup around the base. Also, the gap had widened considerably (up to two-thousandths on a couple). They were properly gapped when I installed them only 8,000 or so miles ago. I wonder if some of the platinum did break down as I drove the car. Maybe the enlarged gap explains why there was an occasional miss at idle. Didn't do it all of the time, only occasionally and without explanation. I feel better with OE copper plugs. Will take it out for a spin tomorrow to see how she performs. I'll let you all know. Thanks.
