For my '95 E320 Wagon I also have a keyless remote. It came with the car. It's made by Avitar Technologies, Inc. You can get an owner's manual P/N 32-5003 and an installation manual P/N 31-5003 if your remote is the 5003 model. The system will disable the starter. Problem with all these devices is that, if someone really wants the car, they cut a hole into the hood and disconnect the battery. Then they load the car on a truck and ship it. What works for me, is that I back it up with insurance by Smith & Wesson.

Into what year and model did you install this unit?
Does the car you installed it in have the "convenience feature"? Convenience feature is what allows commanding the windows and sunroof by holding the key in the lock/unlock position..... J. M.van Swaay |

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't believe your car has the convenience feature.
Convenience feature was an option (option code 88?) available on later model 124s You are correct--there is a module associated with this feature. In the case of my 94 and 95 E320, it is located under the rear seat squab on the drivers (left--USA) side. This module also handles other functions, Im not sure if it could be easily retrofitted...... Out of curiosity, where did you get this infra red unit? Somewhere I read that this option was only available on cars delivered in Germany. J. M. van Swaay |
