I just had a bad overheat yesterday on my 93 400SEL and today I replaced the thermostat which seemed to help the problem, but not the radiator light went out but the oil idiot light wont. I got down underneath and pulled off the connector and wire from the sender and then started it and the light is still on! Is there 2 senders for your oil pressure, one for the guage and one for the light? Or do I need to bring it in so they can reset the code with the computer? Any Ideas? This light got triggered by the overheat.

To get the light out, there is an oil level sender that is on the block just to the front of the oil filter housing. You have to ground that wire to the block. IF the engine overheated, it probably broke the glass tube inside the oil level sensor that houses the reed switch.
IE< you need to replace the sensor. You will have to remove the sub-oil pan to do this as the sensor is inside there.
